BUT WAIT FANS!!! There is more! Yes not only did we just encounter our first interview, but also our first REVIEW of our FIRST  E.P "JGAL". I AM ENTERTAINMENT online and physical magazine reviewed our album and gave us 3.75 out of 4 stars!!! Here is a quote from it!

We recently played at El Cid in Silver Lake , CA I am so sad to say that for some reason that day the sound was a bit....dry? We were a tad bit disappointed about it I must admit, but hey EVERY single show is a learning experience. Aside from the acoustics, it was an awesome show! We had a great time on stage, and fans, we always enjoy watching ya'll dance and sing!! Thank you to all of the people who came out! ALso shout out to Jason for hooking us up with the show!!


 Hey but a super big highlight of the night was the band "Monroe". I checked out their music before the show, as well as at El Cid. I must say they are an amazingly talented group of guys, with awesome stage presence! The singer (pictured above) does all kinds of scales , along with the bassist and guitarist!

Johnny Got A Lighter to play El CId/////CONEST!!!!

YODELITO! As some of us in the band like to say...or Yoder, yodel...any derivative is completely fine. ANYHOW, Johnny Got A Lighter has just confirmed a show at El Cid! December 28th, 9pm!!A Place we have actually played once before. Its a pretty neato old school looking spot...big outside patio, nice big stage. All the details have yet to be confirmed yet, but we will keep you updated as they come. We are working on booking some amazing bands that night!!

Along with playing a show, we have decided to have another contest!! Yes it is that time again, win free entrance to our show and free stuff! A cross word puzzle based upon questions about the band has been created. Links will be given for the websites to go to for any answers you do not know.  The first 5 people to complete the puzzle accurately will be awarded free entrance! Plus free JGAL goodies!! ARTWALK JGALIFORNIA REPLUBLIC!

Yo!  First I will start off by giving a shout out to all the peeps who were at our show last night. The staff, bands, and fans/bystanders were all brilliantly chill. The atmosphere of The Five Star Bar is a pretty lax one. People drinking 4 buck tall cans, playing pool dancing around. Definitely a lot of really neat looking mustaches. Our spot was last so we watched a few of the bands play...which were pretty good. It was a must say a little bit loud, and echo horror at some points, thank GOD for ear plugs.

These were the other bands that played this night. Pretty eclectic line up if I do say so myself. 

The night played out better then my expectations ,which were neutral as always.  The night goes as most bands playing do, the set time pushed to almost 1am on a Thursday night. But low and behold many people stayed to catch the last act. Aside from our die hard fans, there were many new faces in the crowd that rocked a long to the beat. We played about a 40 min set as well as an encore. We played all four of the songs off of our new e.p "JGAL" . Which if you haven't heard you can check out  here

I would suggest to any person to go and check out a show at The Five Star bar, it is a cool place with affordable drinks. I would also suggest peeps to book with Frank of Hear Gallery...he went out of his way to be a great host to JGAL.

Members if Broken Bells to play Afterwalk

I do not know if you have heard of  them , but I sure have. Broken Bells is a band that knocked all our socks off with the song "The High Road" a few years back. I just found out that members of this band will be playing with members of The Shins and The Venice Philharmonic at After Walk. Johnny Got A Lighter is a 4 piece band made up of friends slash awesome musicians. We spend our lives working for the man , while still diligently trying to follow our dreams to travel the world spreading our music.

This week, JGAL is to play at "After Walk" at The 5 Star Bar in Downtown Los Angeles. The  LA artwalk has been an ever growing even that takes place monthly in the heart of Down Town LA. Myriads of clubs, art exhibits, bars, hot dog carts, all get together and have artists and musicians show off thier talents to the swarms of people from all over  the greater los angeles area. We were lucky enough to play at LA artwalk over the summer at The Hive Gallery. We dressed up like circus freaks, made props and ALL. Unfathomably we were only able to knock out ONE whole song before a power shortage :( wah wah wah. Yup. It was a sulky day for JGAL, but we got through it and we are ready to play yet again!  We are not going to go ALL out with costumes for this show, but we can assure an awesome set! With songs off of our latest E.p titled "JGAL"
